Kasun and Nethmi first met on a rainy August evening in Colombo, sheltering under the same bookshop awning on Bagatalle Road. One shared umbrella became a long walk, and a long walk became eight years of small adventures — sunrise drives to Ella, Sunday morning hoppers, and a shared belief that the ordinary days matter most.

In the spring of 2025, on the veranda of Nethmi's family home in Kandy, Kasun asked her to spend the rest of those ordinary days with him. She said yes before he finished the question.
